FLUID, is our proposal for #SAINT-CATHERINESTREETEAST #gayvillage #montreal #Gender, #Race, and #Age are oppressive #socialconstructs. FLUID is an immersive space that exposes all of those #standardization constraints, and invites you to overflow them: the years of #normalization are over! FLUID invites people to flow with the wind over race, gender, age, and any other limiting social construct. The intervention occupies all the proposed sections of Saint-Catherine Street East with a hovering matrix of mirrored windmills, a kilometer long measuring tape mural in the street, and sequences of mobile XXYY shaped benches. FLUID pays tribute to the Gay Village of Montreal, and all LGBTQ+ communities around the world, celebrating the strength behind the inspiring mindset of overcoming the barriers with a positive and festive attitude. The intervention proposes different references to the conceptual frame behind the intervention, but the synergies between the elements and their symbolism create a larger poetic immersive space for people to dive in. Ultimately, FLUID is a physical poem to #diversity and flexibility.
